Concentrating on art created in America, the Montclair Art Museum features both works by the descendants of colonizing Europeans and Native American art. Largely focused on works created since the mid-1700s, the museum has everything from oil and canvas paintings to marble sculpture to handcrafted and painted pottery pieces. To help bring youngsters into a love of art and learning, the museum sponsors a number of on site activities, including craft projects and art programs. The downtown center is close to many restaurants and shops as well as the historical Crane House Museum.
